Abstract

The article begins by examining the credibility of the coats-of-arms of the Tvrtković and Kotromanić families in the Fojnica Armorial Roll, and concludes that they are properly shown. The author then analyses the arms of all the Bosnian kings and the historical circumstances of that time, concluding that only Tvrtko I could have minted the Bosnian royal gold coin. He gives an integral interpretation of the heraldic elements on the coin. After that he analyses all the sources about Tvrtko’s coronation and concludes that Tvrtko had a double coronation, first in Mileševa in Bosnia and then in Mileševa in Raška. After that the author shows what Tvrtko imported from Raška to Bosnia, researches the coronations dates and places, and both the coronators. In connection with this he writes about the Church of Bosnia, its hierarchy, continuity, history and importance.
