Abstract

Primarily, business management is the process of planning, organization and administration of activities and resources: a process directed toward the attainment of a chosen goal. In recent years many important incentives in the fields of management and organization theory have been coming from areas having nothing to do with economic theory. Aside from philosophical-biological-psychological models, the regulations followed by certain traditional religious orders have played a large part in this process. In how far can contemporary philosophical modes of thought, and traditional forms of governing religious communities - Jesuit models in particular - assist in shaping managerial activities?
