Abstract

Leading, as one of the main functions of managing, is being examined in the contest of police station. According to the hierarchy principle, a police station is being governed by the chief of police and his managing team. It is preferable for managers also to be leaders. Appointing someone on managing position does not make him a leader at once. Police governor, as a leader, must have an ability to positively influence co-workers and subordinated colleagues, not only in order to achieve main goals of police conduct, but also to have good intern relations inside the station. From the overall function of managing police station, there have been selected and elaborated leading activities related to its basic elements, such as leading managing team, motivation, interpersonal relations and communication. Basic theoretic principles of administrative and business leading are elaborated and described in conditions of dynamism and specificity of police station work and responsibility of its leaders.
