Digital content formats for newspaper preservation in libraries

Abstract

This paper discusses the preservation and protection of intellectual content stored in the newspapers. In modern electronic environment the emphasize is on digitalization as a form of preservation and protection of newspaper items in libraries as a procedure that offers a range of advantages over microfilming newspaper items, or its storage in printed form, but leaves open the number of questions than need answers. Today libraries are choosing among the large number of existing formats in a way they believe will best serve, considering the needs of users and long last of that format.
