Abstract

This work provides quantitative results of the employees and their satisfaction / dissatisfaction with the library, organizational culture and internal communication in the National and University Library in Zagreb (hereinafter NSK). This survey is part of a complex research project of all segments of NSK (employees, customers and the general public). In order to motivate employees to give the greatest possible contribution to working demants such as goals of the library, it was necessary to make quantitative survey of the factors which motivate employees to work more afficient and why are they pleased at their job.The objectives of the research were: to assess the general level of work satisfaction / dissatisfaction, rank the importance of certain characteristics of work and determine the degree of satisfaction of certain characteristics of work of employees of NSK, determine the degree of satisfaction of working with regard to gender, age, work experience, education and workplace employees. The survey was conducted in October 2011, through on-line questionnaires to a sample of 193 employees of NSK.
