Abstract

For estimation of the ideal body weight a polynomial model of second order is proposed, defined by regression equation
w = a0 + a1h + a2a + a3c + a4h2 + a5a2 + a6c2 + a7ha + a8hc + a9ac

where w = estimation of body weight , h = height, a = biachromial span, c = bicrystal span, a0 = constant, a1,...,a9 = coefficient of partial regression, e = estimation error.
Model behavior has been studied on a sample of healthy men, between 19 and 27 years of age and the efficiency of various simplified versions of this model has been considered.
