Abstract

The persistence of cultural heritage is significantly linked to environmental conditions and all
related factors. The study of climatic characteristics is one of the most important issues in the
field of contemporary environmental research. The consequences of climate change as one of
the greatest challenges for humankind are very diverse and also include an impact on cultural
heritage. This paper provides simultaneously an overview and analysis of some of the current
and potential impacts of climate changes on different cultural heritage groups, with the aim to
provide a clearer picture of how particular climate change factors affect specific categories of
cultural heritage. The solution to some of the current and potential impacts can be found in
adaptation and accommodation to climate change.
