Abstract

The work depicts Joža Skok’s contribution to the anthology of Croatian children’s literature. Skok has covered this literature in its genre-, topic- and style-related entirety under nine titles. When selecting texts he has used aesthetic criteria in the literary history sequence, by which he has marked the end of the 18th century as the the beginning of Croatian children’s literature. Similarly, in his selection of texts he has taken into account the presumable contemporary children’s reception. Due to all this, Skok’s anthologies are of exceptional value in evaluating Croatian children’s literature
