Abstract
Dubravko Jelčić, a prominent historian of Croatian literature, also discovered his artistic side during many years of his work. His auctorial search began in his youth and has not been very remarkable. Professional diversity is also present in some historians of Croatian literature, such as Antun Barac and Slavko Ježić. This paper will explore Jelčić’s experimentation from youthful verses through diary prose, journalism to novel.
