Abstract
The motif of death is placed in the very titles of the work of dual authorship, written by Josip Mlakić and directed by Kristijan Milić, in Živi i mrtvi (The Living and the Dead) and Mrtve ribe (The Dead Fish). Links and relationship shall be considered between: two authors, two works, two genres, two deaths, one of which is caused by war and the other is its consequence. Death is a timeless theme and an eternal motif for many authors. Both stated works and authors speak about death in different ways, conditioned by the genre, but also by their relationship to death.
