Abstract

In a sample of students of 61 students of the High School of Physical Culture in Zagreb reactions in 28 motoric activities chosen with the purpose to represent the manifest field of coordination were measured.
The information obtained is summarised inthe form of the intercorrelation matrix. A provisional coordination system of latent dimensions was defined by Hoteling's method of main components by which the criterion of the significance of each characteristic root that is the same or higher than 1,0 was obeyed.
The important main components were transformed in the direction of a simple structure in agreement with the varimax and oblimin criteria. The regression analysis of oblimin factors in the total variable range was performed.
According, to the data obtained, the following conclusion could be made:
- latent structure of the analysed field of coordination is more complex than was supposed in this investigation. According to the quoted criterion for the extraction of factors, 10 latent dimensions were isolated of which it was not possible to interpret four latent structures:
- the following factors of coordination seem to exist:
1. hand coordination
2. coordination factor of the tool body movements
3. reorganisational factor of the motor stereotype
4. factor of a coordinated rhythmical performance of implied movements
5. factor of a quick performance of complex motor tasks.
As this experiment was carried out in a sample selected according to motor status, its results could not be generalized for the population whose characteristics are of similar to the experimental sample. Moreover, the experimental character of this work calls for further investigations in order to obtain more evidence of the existence of the above quoted latent dimensions.
