Abstract
The cooperation between Croatian Radio and National news agency – Hina
was always very close. The informativenes of Hina’s journalists and their rational
style which does not express the journalist’s personality are the main factor in reliability
of information that we take over from its services. Today, like before, the
editors of informative shows on the Croatian radio especially value Hina’s agency
news summary. Also, we value its event notices, and texts from certain specialized
services, like the economic service with many useful information for various radio
shows.
Because of all that, and many other things, I might say that Hina and the Croatian
radio are good partners in an important activity, and that is informing the
public about everything of their interest. My experience tells me that Hina does
not have the exclusiveness that the former news agency in the former state and
socio-political order used to have.
Despite of that, I don’t believe that it undermines Hina’s authority, its reliability
or professional image. Exactly the opposite, in the terms of market economy
Hina functions as an opened agency with journalists who successfully avoid the
political insinuations as a part of relevant facts. The vise avoiding of out smartening
with the public is maybe the most significant factor of Hina’s credibility.
