Abstract

Becoming a surveyor and performing survey jobs in Croatia is not possible without formal education and complying with conditions specified by laws and regulations relevant to the profession. The scope of surveyor tasks expanded significantly with advancements in technology, but it was accompanied by an equivalent demand for higher surveyor proficiency and competences in using those technological advancements. This paper describes the status of geodesy as a profession in Croatia derived from available public information and literature and primary research which collected data on current personal state and satisfaction of Croatian surveyors, as well as the position of females in a so called male profession.
