Abstract

Since the first half of the 20th century, the Rook has been a regular breeding species in Continental Croatia, as well as in the town of Đakovo in Eastern Slavonia. For unknown reasons, Rooks abandoned Đakovo with the last breeding recorded in 1993. In 2018, Rooks recolonized Đakovo with 10 pairs nesting in the Strossmayer park. In 2019 and 2020, the number of the breeding pairs showed a growing tendency with 20 and 56 pairs recorded, respectively.
