Abstract
The paper provides some information on sports orientation and the selection of children talented for various sports disciplines in which they will be able to achieve top results. The aim and purpose of the universal sports school is to help children acquire and develop their basic motor abilities, to provide them with information on different sports disciplines and to find out their interest in and predispositions for those disciplines.
The universal children's sports school is organized in two stages. In the first stage, children of 7 and 8 years of age master the basics of athletics, swimming, gymnastics, ball games and combat sports. In the second stage, children of 9 and 10 years of age take up those sports in which they have shown the greatest interest and talent during the first stage.
