Abstract

The article focuses on the part of radio activity, which characterizes radio as twoway
communication process. In this regard it tries to conceptualize talk radio as democratic
public sphere, where texts of different qualities are formed, which also enable
confrontation of different opinions. The author examines, what happens with
these texts in talk radio broadcasts, and rests on the concept of communicativeness as
that characteristic of text, which preserves undisturbed comprehension between speakers.
By means of the content analysis method the author tries to find out, if and how
different factors – as for example informativeness of utterances, intentionality of
speaker, colloquialness, implicativeness and commonness of contents – in the process
of formation of text in talk radio broadcasts effect the communicativeness of texts.
