Abstract
Decathlon is one of the most complex athletic events. It consists of ten structurally and biomechanically different athletic events, each of them imposing specific requirements in regard to the factors that determine the achievement in sport. Therefore is the methodics of the training in decathlon complex, because it is necessary to influence the development of the large number of motor and functional abilities, as well as to influence the acquisition and improvement of a large number of skills in running, jumping and throwing events. A very delicate field is the field of designing the one-year and the several-years-cycle in which it is necessary to combine a large number of data that are comprised in this sports event. The suggested models of training should provide the complete development of positively selected decathloners in particular periods of the long-term sports specialization, taking into account individual characteristics of each athlete, anticipation of their development and the conditions in which this complex process of sports preparation for decathloners is conducted.
