Abstract

We have observed the latent structure of reactions to the sound of the alert siren and the latent structure of reactions to the sound that is similar to the sound of the alert siren on the sample of 419 examinees. The sample of reactions has been selected on the basis of one kibernetic personality model in the area off our regulation systems. Malfunctions of these systems are responsible for anxiety reactions, as well as for the conversive, aggressive and dissociative reactions. Under the component model we have separately analyzed the subgroups of registered reactions. Initial co-ordinate systems with a previously determined number of dimensions have been rotated into the oblimine solution. Comparison of latent structures has been done under the pseudocanonical model (Guliksen 1950, Momirovic 1972) as cross-correlations of oblimine factor values. The results show the high level of correlation between the first main components. Anxiety reactions, as well as conversive and dissociative reactions are dominant in their stricture, whereas the aggressive reactions are found to be the least frequent. High correlation of factors in the oblimine position has also been noted. It has been proved that the actual number of factors of reactions to the sound of the alert siren and to the sound that is similar to the sound of the alert siren is not four, as it has been previously assumed, but three. Namely, anxious and converse reactions have defined the common factor, which points to the fact that the mutually connected processes occur in the situation of an intensive stress in the systems for the regulation and control of defence reactions and organic functions. Basically identical or very similar structures of the first main component and factor of the reaction to the sound of the alert siren, and the first main component and factors of the reactions to the sound that is similar to the sound of the alert siren can be interpreted as an indicator of the phenomenon of the increased sensitization, i.e. generalization of stimuli in situations of a frequent stress.
