Abstract

This research has been done on the sample of 60 elite female handball players with the objective of determining the contribution of a motor ability, defined as an explosive strength, and typical situation-related tests of efficiency in handball. The results of the regression analysis have shown that the largest contribution to efficiency in handball is provided by explosive strength that has been assessed by the standing long jump (DM) and by the following situation-related tests: throwing the ball from the steady position(BRD) and moving of the guard/defender (KB). The obtained results can be important for programming of the training process in handball and for increasing the efficiency in this sport.
