Categorical Findings and Transcendental Inaccessibility - God in Anselm of Canterbury and Karl Rahner

Abstract

The article is about key terminology about God in the theology of the middle age theologian Anselm of Canterbury and twenty-century theologian Karl Rahner. The first part of the article is about Anselm’s ontological argument of God’s existence. The second part of the article is about Rahner’s thinking about God in the context of the human transcendental experience. Finally, the Anselmian element in Rahner’s thinking about God and the so-called Rahner’s Anselmianism is considered. In conclusion, the author opens the possibility of Anselm’s Rahnerism.
