Differential Diagnosis of Migraine in Relation to Other Headaches
Zoran Tomić
Vladimira Vuletić
Abstract
The classification of headaches is set by the International Headache Society. In fact, the distinction between migraine and other primary and secondary headaches is based on this classification, and in about 90% of cases is solely based on good anamnestic data. Therefore, additional diagnostic procedures are not required in a large number of cases. Presence of multiple types of headaches at the same time, changes in the characteristics of migraine, and headaches due to excessive medication use (medication overuse headache, MOH) can present a diagnostic problem.
