Abstract

The paper presents a part of the results of archaeological excavations carried out in 1996 and 1997 at the site next to the church of the Nativity of Mary in Gradac near Drniš, directed by Mate Zekan. Several early mediaeval graves, belonging to the earliest burial layer at the mentioned site, are discussed. Finds of particularly luxurious jewellery from these graves are further testimony to the already recognised significance of this location in the early Croatian Middle Age.
