Abstract

The paper presents the process of automating the metal strip rolling process in Rockwell Automation software using Allen Bradley PLC, Studio 5000 Logix Designer software tool, SFC programming language (Sequential Function Chart) and FactoryTalk View Studio software tool for HMI interface visualization.The advantages of this software tool are demonstrated in the possibility of easy device configuration and automatic label creation, programming in multiple programming languages, easy connection and communication, visualization and process simulation. PLC operation and process simulation were equally easily monitored, and deficiencies could be eliminated and process automation parameters optimized.
