Abstract

The subject of this paper is the analysis of the possibilities of further design of the national information infrastructure in the field of occupational safety. The foundations of this infrastructure were laid through the initial development of the Information System of Occupational Safety and Health (IS OSH) under the leadership of the Ministry of Labor. Through the analysis of: national legislation and EU guidelines in the field of occupational safety, the possibilities of applying global network services, successful examples of development of national information systems in the field of public administration and health; the foundations for a speculative approach to the analysis of further development of this national information infrastructure were created. The idea of predictable further development and structure of the future central Information System of Occupational Safety and Health was conceived and presented. It relies on the central register of data and resources for safety at work (initially called Data Collector) and all necessary functionalities that guarantee security, ubiquity and longitudinal electronic records. This guarantees the improvement of safety at work in the Republic of Croatia.
