Abstract

Prompted by a series of investigations on values in Europe
and with us published on the occasion of the beginning of the third
millennium, the authors of this work have set to the investigation
of the state of family and values in Split-Dalmatian County within
the framework of the project “Model of Development and Renewal of
Split-Dalmatian County”.
In this work they release partial results of their investigations.
The first part is about the concept of values in general, on the value
of family in Croatia and also in some European transition countries
that have already become the EU members. They also state some
changes and challenges for Croatian family today. The second part
shows the results of public opinion poll on the basis of a sample of
1000 respondents from the region of Split-Dalmatian County.
