Abstract

Twitter has grown into the largest and most influential microblogging platform in the world It is most often mentioned in the context of political discourse, but its followers have public figures from all areas of social action. After fourteen years of operation, it has approached the limit of saturation of total revenues and the number of users. The aim of this paper is to analyse the financial aspect of the business of the microblogging platform Twitter. In addition to the financial aspect of the business, it is inevitable to analyse the correlation between financial indicators and the trend of the number of users who create content on the platform. Twitter is a high-tech corporation, and generates revenue from the sale of advertising space as well as from the sale of "big data" data. With the digressive growth of the number of users, the growth of the number of sent tweets decreases, and thus the advertiser's interest in cooperation weakens. Twitter is a turning point in business.
