Abstract

Miniature robots are one of the directions of very intensive robot development. Among them, flying robots, such as insects or small birds, take a significant place. They are intended primarily for the military reconnaissance and military action, or rescue services for the victims of natural disasters or war destruction. Also, they are being developed as possible pollinators of flowers in case it is needed. Scientists expect their use in the process of monitoring and tracking changes in the environment. The behavior of the so-called social insects in nature will give answers on the collective intelligence necessary while working with a large number of miniature robots, especially microscopic and nano-sized ones.
