Abstract
This paper presents one of the possible approaches to the rapid development of a platform for monitoring, control and management of devices or systems using mobile phones. The initial proposal of architecture, development environment, both applications and hardware realization of the target system were made in the Undergraduate Thesis at a Electrical Engineering dept., Zagreb University of Applied Sciences. Android phone and microcontroller board with Wi-Fi capabilities were used to realize this project. The prototype has been physically realized and functionality was tested. Further improvements have been proposed regarding protection against possible irregularities or malfunctions in industrial environments.
