Abstract
Melanocytic tumors occur in a large number of domestic animals, and they are classified as malignant and benign neoplasms. As with other tumors, in melanocytic neoplasia, research has focused on a better understanding of tumor behavior in order to improve diagnosis and treatment. In this research, the results of cytological and histopathological examinations were analyzed, and the reliability of the cytological method in the diagnosis of melanocytic neoplasia was determined. The study identified the importance of cytological diagnostics as an orientation method in clinical treatment, which shows that a multidisciplinary approach, with the help of cytological and pathohistological diagnostics, is crucial for making a final diagnosis.
