Abstract

The paper summarizes new guidelines or changes in the algorithms of basic and advanced life support, in the treatment of special conditions and the treatment of the child immediately after the return of spontaneous circulation. The basic feature of these changes, which were prepared in autumn 2020 and published in spring 2021, is that the algorithm of basic laife support is no longer uniform. There is an algorithm for lay persons and another algorithm for competent (healthcare professionals and first responders). However, the algorithms for advanced life support are increasingly specific and adapted to individual etiological entities. The changes in the instructions that are most important for the successful implementation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation are discussed.
