Twenty years of Pediatric intensive care unit in Split

Abstract

The first pediatric intensive care unit in the south part of Croatia was established at the University Hospital of Split in 2001. Since 2014., our unit has become the Department of Intensive Pediatrics with Post- Intensive Care. All available intensive procedures have been performed in accordance with modern scientific achievements. Staff participates in various national and international projects, professional education and they publish papers of the highest scientific merit in all areas related to intensive care. Professional courses are organized independently thanks to which doctors and nurses in our and neighboring countries are educated, and by the decision of the Ministry of Health since 2017 we hold the position of the Referral Center of the Ministry of Health for Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
