Abstract

Intestinal microbiota has been connected with different inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Fecal microbiota transplantation is a method that directly changes recipient’s microbiota with a goal of treating the disease. In modern clinical practice fecal microbiota transplatation is indicated in recurrent and fulminant C.difficile infection, with not enough evidence in other indications. In this review we present the protocol for fecal transplantaion, its role in treating children, as well as safety and adverse events.
