Abstract

Thanks to climatic and geografical characteristics the southern areas of Herzegovina are suitable for growing citrus. The most common is the mandarin which is primarily grown in backyards in the form of smaller or larger group of individual trees. There are no major commercial citrus groves because the fruit growers are traditionally oriented towards other mediterranean fruit species. Nursery production ensures healthy planting material and seedlings of all types of citrus are produced in Herzegovina. In this professional work are presented the most common varieties of mandarins in Herzegovina: Zorica rana, Chahara, Ichumare, Okitsu, Kuno, Seto, Kawano Wase, Saigon, Clementina and Curafora Segentrange.
