Abstract

In this mini-review we discuss the current understanding of the contribution of
proprioception to motor control and activation of the dynamic restraints for functional joint
stability, as well as the importance of proprioceptive feedback system impairment in
functional knee instability after anterior cruciate ligament injury. We also discuss the
possibilities to restore the proprioception by operative and non-operative treatment.
