Abstract
Peduncled oak and sessile-flowered oak acorn have been sown in five different types of
containers. The plants were cultivated in the nursery of the Institute in the open, and the
containers were located on an elevated position, on wooden grids, for the purpose of aerial
root desiccation. The following containers made of hard plastic were used: Bosnaplast
180mm, QPD 12T/18, QPD 60T/17, HIKO V530 and HIKO V265.
Peat from Bosansko Grahovo was used for substratum and it was enriched with 2 kilograms
of N P K 15:15:15 per m3.
Plant survival was registered at the end of each vegetation and measurements of
heights, root collar diameter, root length of minimum, average and maximum-sized plants
by their heights were made. Measurements of weight of dry matter of the stem and root of
the average plant by their heights have been made, as well.
According to obtained results, containers HIKO V265 and QPD 60T/17 are recommended
for the production of annual seedlings.
