Abstract

Projects of digitisation of cartographic material are a part of important projects of digitisation of the world cultural heritage, taking place in libraries, museums, and archives around the world. 20 most significant maps of Slovenian territory from the 16th to the mid 19th century were digitised within the pilot project of the Map and Pictorial Collection of the National and University Library in Ljubljana and Geodetics Institute of Slovenia. Various analogue-digital conversion procedures, including scanning and digital photography, as well as scanogram processing procedures were used during the project.
