Abstract

Field part of the testing was established in spring of 2000 on two localities.
In 2000 and i 2001, certain measurements were made, as well as monitoring manifestations
related to biological properties and ecological requirements of researched samples of
peduncled oak.
Research of heights and their increment during field part of the testing (3+1 i 3+2) is
indicative of prominent differences between samples from seed zones and seed units of
peduncled oak in Croatia.
Differences in growth and development during the field part of the testing (3+1, 3+2),
dependent on some climatic occurrences during 2000 and 2001 vegetation, which deviated
from average values in the past several years, were evident between seed units and seed
zones of peduncled oak, as well as between seed units and seed zones on different localities
of the field testing.
This research provides us with an insight into particular differences and patterns which
confirm justifiability of classification of forests of peduncled oak in Croatia, as well as recommendations
for the use of seed and forest seedlings.
