Abstract

The paper analzyes a part of phonological linguistic features of the speech of Široki Brijeg, a city in West Herzegovina. The speech of Široki Brijeg belongs to the western, Neo-Shtokavian Ikavian dialect. Linguistic material that was used in the research is a recording of Široki Brijeg speech in the villages Ljubotići, Kočerin, Potkraj, Crne Lokve and Mokro collected with a recorder from April till June 2020. The paper aims at showing the basic features of Ikavian speech of the Široki Brijeg area as well as emphasising some of the phonological features.
