Abstract
Photophobia resulting from persistent mydriasis may be associated with the dysfunction of the ocular parasympathetic nerves or from primary iris lesions. In the case of this 5-year-old mixed-breed dog with bilateral mydriasis, abnormal pupillary light reflex and photophobia are presented. No abnormalities, except for unresponsive mydriasis and photophobia, were detected during the general physical or ocular examinations. On the basis of these results, idiopathic mydriasis with no visual impairment was diagnosed.
