Abstract

The paper provides an estimate of the number of people killed in natural disasters in Croatia, as well as an overview of measures to protect against individual natural disasters and reduce the number of victims and material damages. An overview is given of the most significant natural disasters that have hit Croatia throughout history – earthquakes, stormy winds, waves (and tsunamis), floods, landslides, fires, volcanoes, meteors.
