Abstract

Perception of the structures, phenomena, static and dynamic processes of our geo space without cartographic models is hardly imaginable. Unique width of communication is offered by interactive cartographic systems. The basis of those systems are scale-bound and graphically defined cartographic models. The construction of single models cannot be avoided at the present. Access to multifunctional geo space data basis (object geometry and their attributes) cannot substitute data acquisition, because Cartographic Information Systems are not provided with modules to automatically establish cartographic generalization. The article refers to the responsible and very complex cartographic space modelling. The results of semi automated cartographic generalization by means of MAP GENERALIZER – INTERGRAPH are shown.
