Abstract

This paper offers a synthesis of the Austro-Hungarian vertical zero point determination, a new Yugoslav vertical datum and an original method for the determination of the normal bench mark Maglaj height. It is shown that the zero point of the Austrian vertical datum is about 6.06 cm too low. New preliminary results in connecting Yugoslav, Austrian and Italian levelling networks are given. This paper is in fact a synthesis of Yugoslav vertical datum investigations by A. Bilajbegović.
