Abstract
Croatian Names of New Diseases
The strong development of natural sciences and technology, in particular after the introduction
of e-communication, email and the Internet, has imposed the need to introduce new
words into the professional language. This is especially important for the widest community.
Croatian is a very fruitful and precise language that provides excellent solutions in giving
names. For example, when introducing the names for new diseases, the name for one of
these diseases caused by the SARS 2 virus was derived from the field of use of 3D printers.
The article brings a more detailed analysis of diseases connected with the use of plastic, in
particular of diseases that occur in the field of making polyester artefacts.
