Abstract

The conception and the optical-mechanical construction of the Zeiss Ni 002 level are explained. Particularly, the characteristics of the level, which enable the application of the motorized levelling method, and therefore a considerable increase of efficiency are stressed. The hypothesis on equality of the collimation errors i1 and i2 is also tested. The temperature dependence of these angles is investigated. The variability of these angles during cooling and heating, but also the independence of the angle iR on the temperature when the stationary state is established, were ascertained. The data concerning magnetic influence on the Zeiss Ni 002 level are presented, as well as the correction for this effect. New variants of the Zeiss precision levels: Ni 002A and RENi 002A are described. The trends of development in the field of the automatization in precise levelling are outlined.
