Abstract

The paper presents the comprehensive activity of Professor Stjepko Težak
(1926 – 2006) as a language planner and purist over a long period. His viewpoints
regarding the position, the nature and the name of the Croatian language as well as
his attitude towards terminological doubts, synonymy and loan words in Croatian
are analysed in detail.
