Abstract
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is the most common cardiomyopathy reported in cats. Most affected cats are young to middle-aged male cats. The condition is hereditary in Maine Coon, Ragdoll and American Shorthair cats. This report describes a classic example of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in a 6-year old male cat. The cat showed typical signs of difficult breathing and hind limb paresis due to saddle thrombosis of iliac arteries.
