Abstract

The cross-section area for steel purlins is calculated based on three different technical norms and for three dissimilar areas. These locations vary in terms of their snow load. The results of the calculation, based on the three regulations, are compared. Variations in basic variables such as cross-section height and snow loads are considered. The standardized reliability index as defined by Eurocode 0 is compared with the calculated values for different locations and regulations.

Keywords

reliability index; Eurocode 0; characteristic snow load
