Abstract

Renate Wagner-Rieger’s pioneering achievement in the area of historicism had a great impact on Hungarian research, not least because of the close historical and cultural ties between Budapest and Vienna. A handful of researchers actively propagated Wagner-Rieger’s work, especially the volumes of the Wiener Ringstrasse series, and thus were instrumental in clarifying the significance and terminology of historicist architecture in Hungary.
