Abstract

We discuss in this work two independent scenarios of a higher-dimensional spatially flat universe. In the 1st scenario, we conjecture that the cosmological constant varies according to the ansatzs Λ = ρ α, α ∈ R, where ρ is the energy density assumed to vary like ρ = DHm, (D, m) ∈ R. In the 2nd scenario, we conjecture that the cosmological constant varies like Λ = Gβ , β ∈ R, where G is the gravitational coupling constant. Both scenarios reveal many interesting and appealing consequences which are discussed in some details.
