Abstract

The number of companies that transfer their business into virtual space is increasing, which brings new challenges to daily functioning of working teams. In this research 41 members of eight virtual teams from an informatics company were tested. Applied inventory contained 35 questions, formed on the basis of previous research, divided into four scales - communication network, attitudes on virtual teams in general, challenges in virtual team meetings and evaluation of virtual team effectiveness. Two main hypotheses were tested - 1. Are virtual teams with better communication network more effective and 2. Are virtual teams with more positive attitudes toward virtual teams in general the more effective ones? Both hypotheses were statistically confirmed. Intercorrelations of other inventory scales, as well as their relation to the number of team members were also calculated. Based on results, concrete conclusions were made, as well as concrete practical recommendations.
